Since 2001 I have been honing my skills to provide the most effective, relaxing and rejuvenating massage therapy I can. Make an appointment, and let's see how we work together.
As a certified pre-natal therapist with over eight years of experience specializing in helping pregnant women cope with their bodily changes, I work diligently, deeply and safely to provide real pain relief, as well as nurturing touch. I believe in my heart that being comfortable and pain-free during pregnancy allows you to prepare more fully, with presence, awareness and connection, for your child's arrival.
Some of the benefits include relief of stress on weight-bearing joints, reduced edema, increased skin elasticity, improved circulation, relief of muscular aches and pains, enhanced immune system and more. Post-partum massage aids in restoring the body’s natural state through circulatory stimulation, lymphatic drainage, alleviating sore muscles, and helping to facilitate connective tissue healing.
I have many different pillows, bolsters and cushions to help you during the trimesters. For first trimester, I use a special comfort bolster to allow laying prone or face-down for as long as it is comfortable. During second and third trimester, it becomes necessary to use the side-lying and supine or face-up positions. I use the Body Cushion™ system to maximize comfort and support the hips and upper body in addition to a body pillow for legs and arms. Most clients report feeling extremely comfortable as they are on the table. I try to create a little cloud of cushion and support for the mom-to-be.
This work, as designed by J.P. Barral, D.O, MRO(F) and Alain Croibier, D.O., MRO(F), focuses on nerve restriction within the body. Fixed nerves cause an imbalance in the pressure system of the nerve, as well as the effectiveness of the neural pathway. Through nerve conductivity, we can release nerves to rebalance their glide and movement.
This work can be helpful in post-trauma recovery, whiplash treatment, after surgical procedures, for opening up the nerves that feed our reproductive organs and fertility, eczema and other skin problems, and for nerve pain or numbness. I have been studying this work through the Barral Institute for the last year and a half, and I will be taking the fourth class on Cranial Nerves with Dr. Croibier this summer, 2011. I am excited about the great potential of this work, and I am very pleased with the results the work brings to my clients.
