There is a belief that is strongly rooted in me: we can evolve. We have been given the transformative power of human touch.
After several years in the restaurant business followed by several years in the hotel industry, I wanted to give back to my community. I started my formal training to become a massage therapist in 2000 with a 300 hour Swedish massage training program at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School (Austin, TX). It wasn't enough. I knew how to help my clients relax and work through some recent injuries, but I needed more knowledge to affect chronic pain, to improve intense injury recovery, and to release stuck energy in the body. So, I returned to TLC for Semester Two, a 250 hour program with training in deep massage, advanced anatomy and physiology, sports massage, structural bodywork, and shiatsu.
I will never stop learning, and I will never stop being amazed at how our bodies respond to bodywork! I have taken numerous workshops over the years, including a Prenatal/post-partum certification program, Craniosacral I and II from the Upledger Institute, several one-day myofascial release workshops, Reiki I & II, Releasing the Rotator Cuff, Breast Massage I, An Integrative Approach to Oncology Massage at MD Anderson, Neuromuscular therapy, and most recently Neural Manipulation. As a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, I am committed to upholding the highest standards for massage therapy through continued education.
I live in central Austin with my partner, Dwayne, our two cats and three dogs. I enjoy traveling, eating out and spending quality time with my friends.
It is a honor to get to do this work for my living. Every day I feel grateful for my clients, my friends and family. I hope to have the privilege of working with you soon!
